Buildings at Dancing Rabbit

At Dancing Rabbit we have covenants and sustainability guidelines that affect the design and construction of homes and other structures on our land.

Buildings are made with straw, reclaimed wood, other reclaimed materials, cob (sand, straw and native clay, sometimes with a pinch of manure), and other materials. You’ll find a mix of natural building techniques and green building techniques. We make choices balancing sustainability of construction, efficiency of the building over time, affordability, structural soundness, aesthetics, speed of construction, and other factors on a village scale like the social impact of spaces and keeping the building dense to leave room for agriculture and wilderness on the bulk of our land.

We get a lot of interest in our articles on building foundations and cisterns.
