The projects:
You will be helping build a small passive solar strawbale house, tend
an organic garden, and establish a small vineyard for a future winery.
Construction of the house will involve framing, roofing, building
strawbale walls, and mixing and applying earthen plaster.
Garden work will include bed preparation, planting, mulching,
weeding, and harvesting.
Vineyard work will involve trellis construction,
planting, mowing, and watering.

Desired skills:
Natural building, gardening, and construction experience a plus.
Hard worker with a mind toward efficiency and attention to detail. Problems
solving skills are helpful. Someone adaptable to hard labor, able to lift 40
lbs. or more on a regular basis and work in hot summer conditions.
What is provided:
Your basic living expenses at DR will be covered. This includes
costs for tent camping, shower and bath facilities, food, and internet.
Depending on the length of stay, I may cover transportation to and from the
train station if needed.
Your end of the deal:
You will work 35 hrs per week on various projects. You may have to work on
the weekends, depending on the weather.
Duration:
I'm now looking for a work exchanger month of September 2009. I
would prefer you be able to stay a month or more, but depending on how great a
response there is to the ad I may be able to accommodate shorter stays.
Pets:
We do not have accommodations for pets.
