Looking For A Seasonal Natural Construction Job As A Work Exchanger?
We regularly have people at Dancing Rabbit looking for help on their building projects.
We are regularly looking for people with experience and interest in the following areas :
- passive solar design
- foundation design
- solar hot water design work
- renewable energy electrical system design and installation
- rocket stove design and creation
- electerical wiring
- plumbing system design and installation
- using reclaimed lumber
- using reused, reclaimed, and seconds for windows and doors
- timber frame construsction
- post and beam construction
- straw bale construction
- earth and lime plaster

Summary of What You'll Get As A Work Exchanger:
- Food: Full food stipend. You will most likely be part of an organic vegetarian food co-op during your stay.
- Accommodations: Tenting space provided and shared facilities available for use. Our indoor facility, the Common House is complete with kitchen, showers, composting toilets, phone, internet, library, and social space.
- Fees: Payment of all Dancing Rabbit associated fees.
- Transportation: Travel to and from Dancing Rabbit, and during your stay is at your expense.
- Education and skills: You will gain both hands-on experience and a working knowledge of natural and green building techniques and systems the specific skills you will learn will depend on the project(s) you paticipate in. You will also learn about sustainable living while spending time in our community.
Summary of Your Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Your work load: 30-40 hours per week learning and working on a natural and green building project(s) (some work exchange opportunities may include gardening work as well).
- Your experience and attitude: strong work ethic, construction skills, responsibility, attention to detail, desire to learn, enthusiasm, and a good spirit.
- Additional responsibilities to the community. As a temporary resident of the community, you will partake in community responsibilities such as cleaning and chore rotations.
