DR hosts the reunion crowd
Dancing Rabbit Turns 10
Land Day this October held a special significance,
marking ten years since DR planted itself here in northeast Missouri. In
celebration, we hosted a reunion which attracted members, residents,
interns, work exchangers, visitors and friends from the earliest days to
the most recent. We shared a weekend of good cooperative food, performance,
story telling, ultimate frisbee, land walks, and lots of catching up. As we
toured the village together, telling the stories of all our hand-built
homes, one couldn't help but be struck by how much work, play,
struggle, creativity and new tradition we've packed into one decade.
Every face beamed with the spirit of the project and all we've
accomplished, and each reflected two more that couldn't make it to
join us but who were there in the substance of what they'd
contributed, visible all around us.
This issue celebrates ten years of Dancing Rabbit
Ecovillage, and incidentally, ten years of the March Hare as well. Thanks
for reading, and for being a part of everything we've created!
