Spring sprung a cruel trick on us this year, with three weeks of daytime temperatures in the 60s and 70s followed by a week of winter frigidity with lows down to 17 degrees. Our greenhouse seedlings squeaked by, but outside, all the tender new leaves, flowers and buds induced by the balmy weather to make their appearance were either stunned or killed off altogether, and are now slowly recovering or re-sprouting. DR's human denizens had a similar response (only stunned, thankfully), but we've found significant rejuvenation in the arrival of a strong crew of new and returning residents, totalling seven so far this Spring. This week our first group of visitors arrives, including five young children, so we're swinging into the high season with great rapidity.

New residents Amanda, Dan, Jason,

In this issue of the March Hare you'll find articles on a variety of topics, reflecting the wide range of thoughts on the minds of Rabbits as the busy season comes on. Alline offers a glimpse of the quiet trials behind the birth of a new project as the Milkweed Mercantile breaks ground in May; Sara and Ted describe a few of the adventures of raising a baby in an ecovillage; Tony B. tells us his life story; Suzanne talks about the myriad factors swirling in her mind as she envisions making her new warren home; Rachel offers a snapshot of life on the land in Northeast Missouri this year; Thomas wraps his mind around time and continuity as only Thomas can; and we give thanks for the many supporters who make our work possible.
We wish you a productive Spring, and hope you'll let us know about the exciting new projects you're embarking on. Here's to a new cycle of life!
