Tereza and Tom (even cuter than normal) walking to May Day at Sandhill
It's the humidity. It's been a very wet summer so far. The gardens
are happy, the cisterns are happy, but some of the Rabbits might like it
a little drier.
As always at Dancing Rabbit in the warmer months, buildings are being
built, gardens are being gardened and frisbees are being flung hither
and yon with wild abandon ("UUUUU-P!!!").
New faces on the farm include Amy Seiden, who is the newest member of
both Dancing Rabbit and Skyhouse Community. Ed Jenkins and Ingrid Evjen-Elias
(see the latter's article on agriculture in this issue) are work exchangers
with Ironweed Co-op. The fresh energy of new people is much appreciated,
especially as it starts to get warmer.
Also in this issue, Rachel is back in her nature corner, Stef talks
about her gardening, Sara tells us the story of her life (so far), and
Leslie, the fictional visitor to the fictional Jaunty Weasel Ecovillage,
has a lovely surprise awaiting her.

Ultimate Frisbee on the playing field
We received a request to put the DR mission statement in each issue.
We may not always have room to do so, but here it is, straight from the
website:
Our Mission:
To create a society, the size of a small town or village, made up of
individuals and communities of various sizes and social structures, which
allows and encourages its members to live sustainably.*
To encourage this sustainable society to grow to have the size and recognition
necessary to have an influence on the global community by example, education,
and research.
*Sustainably: In such a manner that, within the defined area, no resources
are consumed faster than their natural replenishment, and the enclosed
system can continue indefinitely without degradation of its internal resource
base or the standard of living of the people and the rest of the ecosystem
within it, and without contributing to the non-sustainability of ecosystems
outside.
And finally, keep those cards and letters coming in, folks and have a
great summer!
