Named after our old home in Berkeley, California, seven full members of the Dancing Rabbit Project have joined together to form DR's first subcommunity. Other forming groups and individuals have expressed serious interest in Dancing Rabbit, but so far Skyhouse is the sole entity within Dancing Rabbit. Skyhouse serves as one channel for people to become part of the project as well as a home for those seeking an income sharing, group living situation. Values that the current members of Skyhouse share are consensus decision making, nonviolence, toleration of various dietary preferences, commitment to personal growth and embracing diversity, empowerment of women and all individuals, and desire to learn new ways to live as a model for our ecovillage. Together, we have skills ranging from midwifery, carpentry, and horse care and carriage driving to Web page design and computer programming. Lately, we've been enjoying hiking around Dancing Rabbit land, growing and preserving a great deal of our own food, staging and attending parties, playing music together, and watching 11-month-old Jack learn to walk and talk.

We are currently living in a rental house in northeastern Missouri, near the small town of Rutledge and 3 miles from our friends at Sandhill community. It's just across the road from the land that DR just purchased, as well. For our income we work various telecommuting jobs as well as helping Sandhill in their tempeh business and doing part-time work for the Fellowship for Intentional Community. We are busy working on Dancing Rabbit, starting new businesses for provide for future members, and getting ready to build a house in the spring, but we still have time to sit around the dinner table and sharpen the wit that's surprised many a visitor.

Skyhouse welcomes people of all types to visit or join us. We also appreciate visitors who come to gather and share new ideas, lend skills and labor to our projects or who are considering joining Dancing Rabbit. Please call or write to plan a visit.
