Growing like mad...

Another summer is here, which represents our second growing and building season on the property, and we're plowing ahead for all we're worth. This summer there are no fewer than seven buildings under construction. We're digging new garden beds and expanding the variety of crops that we're growing. Most exciting is that our numbers have grown quickly this summer allowing us to tackle so much work.

We have been busy with outreach work as well. Jenni hauling balesA college class from Vanderbilt University spent a week with us, we spoke to students at Indianola College in Indiana, and hosted a discussion group from Kansas City in mid-July. Also, our first workshop was a great success.

We just received a preview copy of the documentary made about Dancing Rabbit in May. Filmmaker Philip Craft, who hosted a nationally syndicated cable show called Political Playhouse, spent part of April and May with us, documenting life at DR. We were thrilled to see the final product and will be sure to keep you posted on its acceptance at film festivals and other venues.

We reached our high point of having seven interns here at the same time. This year's 'crop' has been incredible and our work has benefitted from their enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge.

Much more is going on as well, so read on and enjoy!
