Once again, the Rabbit population is hitting a peak in midsummer. With interns, residents, guests, members, and friends and family, our population hovers around the 30 mark. It's starting to feel like a real village, with multiple projects taking place all day every day, and our nights filled with every sort of activity.
Kit, our artist-in-residence, created a beautiful Dancing Rabbit quilt, and with several buildings ever-nearing completion, we'll soon have a place to hang it! Bales are being put in Skyhouse, and the building's second story has already become a popular location for dances, concerts, meetings, and parties.
In June, a big storm took out our solar power systems for a week (and tipped over the outhouse, too!), but we've rebounded and are now taking full advantage of the sunny days, at least when we're not cooling off in the pond. The sun's great for the garden, too, and we're loving our vegetable-filled dinners, as would any rabbits. With the busy season not even half over, it's amazing to think how far we've come.
