In the green hills of Northeast Missouri, where many small communities have nearly disappeared, a new one is being developed. It isn't just a cluster of houses around a business, it is a planned community of 280 acres that is working toward developing its own earth-friendly society.

As an educational organization, Dancing Rabbit is committed to spreading the word about sustainable living, drawing knowledge, stories and experience from the real-life example of the ecovillage we are building here. Currently our educational efforts are primarily carried out through our visitor program, intern program and website, although we also occasionally attend conferences, host classes or workshops and visit colleges or universities. But increasingly our work has been getting coverage in various news media. Here are a couple of our recent publicity highlights:
Dancing Rabbit was mentioned to the world on NPR's CarTalk radio program on the Weekend of December 10th, 1999. Halle' asked them about why our vehicle co-op's Volkswagen Vanagon was having trouble on our biodiesel fuel. It was a great chance to get publicity for DR, intentional communities, biodiesel, and car co-ops. We got lots of phone calls and emails from people who heard the show. It was really great. Thanks to Halle' and Click and Clack for a great job.
Missouri Life Magazine decided that Dancing Rabbit is one of the best things going on in Missouri. They annually publish a feature called "The Best of Missouri" and Dancing Rabbit will be included. Watch for their February/March issue for it.
We hope to start submitting articles about our work to relevant magazines in years to come, but for now we're certainly happy to let them just write about us.
