The Return of
"Ask a Rabbit....."
Compiled by Mary Beth Bishop
What is your favorite vegetable to grow and why?
"Stinging Nettles, they are delicious, nutritious, you can brew with them,
they are perennial... they make my blood feel good" - Thomas
"Tomatoes and peppers because they make you feel like a genius... they're
not hard to grow" - Alline
"Summer squash. When I have time, I like to tend to them, pick the little
squash bug eggs off, help them thrive. And they are not a shoe-in to grow
here, so it's a bit of a challenge" - Sara
What is the weirdest or most notable thing you have ever eaten?
"Iguana eggs. They sort of have egg flavor, but multiplied by 100." - Dan
Durica
"Natto, or stinky fermented soybeans, which is frequently referred to as
'snotto'. It is often described as smelling like ammonia and is coated in
wispy gossamer threads that get all over your chin when you eat it." -
Ziggy
"I don't eat weird food." - Sara
"Iridescent blue beetles. I was in Bangkok with my brother... enough
said." - Ted
"Durian Fruit. It is a football sized spiky tropical fruit that smells like
rotten oniony garbage and tastes like sickly sweet heaven." - Thomas
What is your worst non-local guilty pleasure food?
"Dr. Pepper?" - Alline
"Coffee, coconut milk, olives..." - Sara
"Stinky cheese of almost any variety." - Ted
"Kippered herring snacks." - Aurelia (age 2)
"Cheese nips." - Dan Durica

Here's a rough look at DR memers' food choices. Of course, there is a wider
spectrum within these rather general categories, as few people have the exact same
definition for particular diets. We have occasional vegetarians, mostly vegans,
freegans, and opportunarians among these types.
