Organic Vegetable and Herb Gardening

At Dancing Rabbit all of our gardens are organic and primarily involve hand labor with occasional tractor use for breaking new ground. We have yet to grow many grains or beans but do provide most of our fresh orgainc vegetables and many of our herbs. Also perserving our bountiful fall harvest is a common way to prolong the gifts we receive from our gardens.

Many people and co-ops here in the village have private gardens and other market gardens are set up (for sales internal or external to DR). The Ironweed subcommunity is particularly active in organic vegetable and herb gardening and sells inside DR. We are excited for people to join us who want to experiment with different growing techniques and philosophies.

Articles about our gardens appearing in our Newsletter:

Rabbits in the Garden! (May 1997)
Picking and Pecking in the Garden (July 1997)
Harvest Moon (Oct 1997)
Greetings From the Garden (April 1998)
Almost Harvest Time (August 1998)
