Happy Holidays, Everyone! It's Susan writing again, while Rachel's away. Things here at DR have been pretty quiet, for the most part, and pretty cold! I remember a visitor at our Open House in October telling me that we were going to get a typical Missouri winter this year-- you were right! Don finished winterizing the trailer, planted the last of the garlic, and dug a few carrots before the storm hit. Also just before the snow we ate the last of our collards-- yum!
Our friends Bob Cook and Laura Haber of Champaign-Urbana drove Cecil home from his visit there. It
was a nice surprise to see them, though they stayed only a short while as they wanted to get back home before more of the storm hit. Cecil wants me to tell you that he made homemade Oreo cookies while he was away, but the recipe's just too long to print
in the Democrat, so you'll have to ask him for it if you want it. Jeffrey returned from East Wind, and his dad Andrew Harrington, of Chicago, came for a short visit.
In the Members Leaving department: Kalen left for Florida, Jess left for the Northwest, and Susan left for California. Not that we don't love this Missouri weather, but...
Intern Laurie's parents, Wally and Sandi Voeltz, came to pick her up and take her back to Milwaukee. She'll visit with her family for the holidays, and then spend some time visiting other friends in the Midwest and in New Orleans before looking into the possibility of an internship on an organic farm "somewhere warm". We'll all miss her a lot, and wish her well!
That's about all the news from Dancing Rabbit. We hope that this holiday season fills you all with peace and joy.
