Rachel here, reporting the news at Dancing Rabbit. This was my last week in Northeast Missouri before I travel for two months with Tony in Central America. A lot has been happening, but it has been a surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable week. The warm and sometimes sunny weather has been a special treat.

After eight years of relying on the trailer on the Erickson's land for so many of our needs, we are finally moving out. We had a big work party one morning and cleaned all those years worth of accumulated trash and treasures out. It will now be rented by Alyson and Chad, who will have a friendly, but somewhat removed, relationship to Dancing Rabbit. They are fixing it up really nice.

Jeffrey has been doing technical support for some of our neighbors. The other day he was up in Memphis fixing a computer and was invited to stay for a poker night with Chris Feeney and friends. I was cooking dinner that night and got a kick out of his phone call, letting me know he wouldn't be home for dinner because he was playing poker with the boys. He had a great time.

We've all been anticipating the election. Several voted absentee because they're out of town and the rest organized a carpool to Rutledge for Tuesday. We've been following the news and debates and anxiously await the results. Tony and I will be volunteering voter and polling assistance in Florida and St. Louis, respectively.

Halloween was an absolute blast! Many of us dressed up and there were some pretty creative costumes. Tamar set up talking jack o' lanterns outside the Common House to greet everyone as they gathered. Then we went trick or treating around the village, receiving many delicious, mostly homemade, treats. Afterwards we gathered in the Common House to tell scary stories and watch a scary movie. By the time it was over, some people did not want to walk back in the dark alone to their houses.

I won't be writing for awhile but Alyson will keep you informed on what's what. I hope everything has a lovely fall. Wish me luck in my travels.
