The weather is getting colder but inside it is getting hotter! We've made great strides in getting hot water into our lives this week. Solrey has been working day and night trying to get the hot water heater for the Common House done before he leaves. He did a test run and it mostly worked! It will be so exciting to be able to shower and wash dishes there.

Skyhouse also made the final steps to finish their kitchen. Tony finished the plaster over the sink, which rapidly led to finishing plumbing the sink, installing the oven and moving in the fridge. Just in time, because it was getting cold to cook in the Outdoor Kitchen. Everyone in the eating group chipped in to move in in the dining room table and all the kitchen supplies so we could enjoy warm and intimate dinners.

We've had some lovely visits from old friends. Ex-intern Laurie and her friend Max visited and while she was here she organized a writing workshop. I didn't realize that we had so many great writers among us. Ex-interns Josh, Leah and Betsy also came by for the weekend. Betsy is a very enthusiastic Ultimate player and they had a good, long game while she was here. Tereza's mom stopped by on her way to a conference in Saint Louis. She happened to be here for her birthday and was treated to a chocolate cake with lots of frosting. Former members/Sandhiller Cedar and his son Skyler visited from Columbia. Skyler gets cuter, and bigger, every time.

We've also gotten to meet a new friend. Amy's partner Juan came for a visit and check things out. And he brought with him a pad that attaches the computer so that we could play a game called Dance Dance Revolution. It's a video game that you play by dancing. Many of us gathered in Skyhouse to play late into the night.
