Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage

Alyssa here giving you the news from Dancing Rabbit. Perhaps our biggest news of the week is the change in the weather. Thankfully, things seemed to have cooled off a bit! The air actually feels almost chilly in the mornings and Autumn seems to be tempting us again. With that, some folks seem to be switching into some winter preparation. Ironweed spent all day Monday stocking up on firewood, and Bobolink has been doing a lot of canning. There is still a lot to do before the official change of season!

There were some comings and goings this week as well. BJ returned from her month-long trip to the east coast invigorated and excited to be home. Alline left for a few days to drive to pick up Kurt at his father's home. His father's health seems more stable and Kurt was able to return home. Jennifer and her children spent most of the week in Chicago. Rachel joined them in order to attend a software training course.

The common house was the venue for a few fun movies this week. Sunday night we watched "Frida" and on Wednesday night we watched the movie about Johnny Cash, "Walk the Line".

Liat, Nathan, and Brian all headed to Kirksville on Friday for the Critical Mass bike ride. Turnout was again positive, with some 33 riders. The three of them then stayed one night with our community friends in La Plata, Sara, Ethan and Katrina.
