Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage

Juan here, bringing you the latest happenings, goings-on, occurrences, and other such from Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage.  This week marked the last full week of our second visitor period this year.  Quite a few of our visitors have expressed an interest in coming back to live here, so we'll likely be seeing them again before too long.

The first day of summer is next week, but I think it's already here.  Especially when the sun peeks out from behind a cloud and the temperature suddenly climbs 10 degrees.  It's forced our Ultimate Frisbee games away from the mid-afternoon.  It's not uncommon to hear the call-to-play at 8:00am nowadays.  There's even a game scheduled at 7:00am on Thursday - the first time I'll have to set my alarm to go play a sport.

A spring a little short on rain has left the Bobolink garden hurting, but not devastated.  I've been really excited to start harvesting our peas and watching our tomato plants actually beara fruit.

As far as group activities go, Monday night was a movie night, including short films by our former visitor Nolan.

Nathan celebrated his birthday on Wednesday with a dance party.  Varieties of dances were seen, including swing and contact-improvisation.

Our sewing circle was at Judy's this past Thursday, and the group was joined by Amy's mother Ellen, who's visiting for a couple of weeks.

Simultaneously, a group of DR musicians performed at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, singing and playing for the joy of the residents.  Here's hoping they perform somewhere again soon - their rehearsals were great fun to hear.

Saturday, we said goodbye to member Jenn and her cat Vega.  She plans to visit Sandhill Farm soon, so the two of them will hopefully be back in the area before long.
