Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage

My name is Juan, and it will be my pleasure to bring you the latest happenings at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage. This week was the final week of our first visitor period this year. It's been wonderful getting to know all of our visitors, and I'm looking forward to their keeping in touch.

Our neighbors Roger and Mary Walker joined some of us for dinner on Monday night. Quite a few good stories were exchanged during the meal, and Roger joined in a musical jam afterwards that was a lot of fun to listen to.

Tuesday, Tereza's mother came to visit, and brought her pet rabbit (the fur, long ears and whiskers kind) Vermeer for stay with Tereza for the week. Also, Tereza's mother offers many thanks to Dave for bringing her out here from town. That evening, we shared our weekly potluck dinner with Red Earth Farms and Sandhill, followed by an Open-Mic night. Songs and jokes abounded. Even Dr. Usson, one of Rowan's more amusing alter-egos, made an appearance to spread mirth.

Wednesday saw a birthday celebration for our visitor April. Two food co-ops provided cakes, and the night was completed by a showing of Eddie Izzard, of whom April's a fan. Quite the coincidence.

Thursday night, some rabbits headed over to our biweekly sewing circle with another neighbor, Judy. Meanwhile another rabbit, Vermeer, stayed here, enjoying an evening of being cute and fuzzy.

Friday evening, our long-absent members Kurt & Alline came home for a few days. Baloo came with them, much to the amusement of Red Earth Farm's dogs. Later, the common house was the scene of a sing-along following our community dinner.

Saturday was Sandhill's 32nd annual May Day celebration. Dancing Rabbit was close to empty for almost eight hours as we joined in the dancing, eating, sports, and other fun.

Last, but not least, our Sunday meeting was another significant occasion -- our first new residency of the year. Genevieve, one of our visitors, was accepted to be our newest rabbit. Welcome!

This day-by-day was brought to you by the letters D and R, and by the number 5.
