Wow, can you believe the weather?! The rain followed by the warm weather has gotten everybody outside. The gardeners are going crazy picking spinach. Thomas has been roaming the woods bringing home morels and oyster mushrooms. Folks have been throwing the frisbee around. And I've seen nearly everyone go for a walk.

Tony and I returned from our week in New York visiting my family to springtime in full swing. It turned out Jillian, our former food and herb garden intern, was coming back for a little visit and gave us a ride from the train station in Chicago. We always enjoy her laughter and delicious baked goods.

Ted and Sara (and their dog Isis) were interns two years ago. They met and fell in love here. They've been traveling but they just returned to Dancing Rabbit to make it their home. We've been enjoyed sharing their energy and excitement.

Every year since we have been here, the Truman class Expanding Environmental Consciousness has visited every semester. They come by for a tour and lunch and then help out. This time they helped mulch all of our fruit trees (which by the way are looking fabulous, thanks to the care of Tamar and Thomas).

Tamar, Andra, Steph and Jillian visited Lorraine Kapfer to dig up some raspberries and play a game of scrabble. I heard that a good time was had by all.

Stephanie arranged for an event to showcase shenanigans. It's kind of like a talent show, only you don't have to display a talent in the traditional sense. Andra's puppet Bear was the emcee. Acts included musical performances, dance routines, a puppet show and an interactive bird guessing game. When all the shenanigans has been performed, a dance party broke out.

It's tour season again, so please come by and visit us on alternate Saturdays. Not everyone who is interested in Dancing Rabbit lives close enough to come for a Saturday tour. Awhile ago we put up pictures on our web page that takes one on a tour of the village. But Penn wasn't satisfied with mere still pictures. He filmed a digital video of Dancing Rabbit with Cecil as the tour guide. Then he edited it down and accompanied it with Vivaldi. By the time you read this it might be available for download on our website. But its a big file, so it's only accessible to folks who has a fast connection or a lot of patience.
