Go Baltimore Ravens. Jess is from Baltimore and was so excited that the
Ravens were in the Superbowl that she, Jeffrey and Brad headed to Quincy to
catch the game on a big screen TV. And boy, was she excited when they won!
They stayed over at a hotel in town and picked up Stan from Sandhill and
Cecil, both returning from travel. Cecil brought home stories of his visit
with his family in Florida, and two special pairs of large sized knit
booties for Alline and Kurt from his great aunt Sylvia.
An intern applicant who grew up in Columbia stopped by for a visit while
she was in Missouri visiting her parents. She has studied botany and is
considering coming here to work on land conservation.
Holly was very helpful during her visit especially with the Communities
Magazine mailing. Its a big job and she joined Cecil, Jeffrey, Kurt, Jess,
and others to mail it out quickly to locations all over the world.
We had another sewing night here, with Bekka and Brad from Sandhill.
Unfortunately, Alline fell on the ice shortly before the gathering and
sprained her wrist. We all hope she feels better soon. And we're glad
the weather warmed up a little to help melt the ice.
Baloo, our golden retriever, had a run in with a skunk this week. Alline
spotted a rough-legged hawk and Kurt saw a savannah sparrow at his bird
feeder.
Spring is around the corner. Don has started ordering seeds for the
garden. Kurt and Stan have been talking about dusting off their taps and
starting to collect maple sap.
