Hi everyone. This is Alline filling in for Rachel, who was last seen leaping and frolicking because she's still on vacation from school.
Things have been quiet here at Dancing Rabbit this past week, although by Saturday most of us were back on the farm. Chad and Alyson, Ted and Sara, Rachel and Tony and your humble correspondent (Alline) all trickled in by planes, trains and automobiles. With each return came stories of adventures, new movies and great restaurants. Now we're only missing Jeffrey and Tamar.
Our swimming pond froze over absolutely perfectly - clear and smooth - for skating, so a group of Rabbits laced up and had a party. Rachel, Tony, Susan W., Stephanie and Jacque all skated. Kurt, he of weak ankles, cheered from the shore. Maya, Tamar's faithful canine companion, entertained herself (and everyone else!) by throwing sticks onto the ice and then retrieving them for herself. Another day Rachel, Tony, Arjen, Sandhill's Stan joined Roy Monroe for skating on the old Memphis lake (reservoir) and had a great time.
When it's too dark to skate, we've been spending our time playing 'Celebrity.' This is essentially charades using names. Tereza (who has been reading a lot of British history) and Cecil (one of our more eclectic members) always come up with someone obscure, which is part of what makes it so fun.
Penn, Kurt and Dan continue to work on the Common House. Now that the interior is painted (beautiful!) it's time for trim, hanging doors, installing cabinets and sinks, and all the other detail work. It's always a pleasure to visit and see what's been added!
We are seeking comfortable, clean, smoke-free couches and chairs in good condition to furnish our Common House. Ugly is OK - we can fix ugly. If you have any appropriate furniture you would like to donate or sell to us inexpensively (did someone say "tax deduction"?) please call us and leave a message for Alline. I'll call you back. We really appreciate your support.
