Kitchen
The design of the kitchen, or more appropriately, the kitchen complex, includes:
- Phase I -- Complete (more or less)
- An enclosed area approximately 30 feet by 17 feet for cooking and
dining during the cold months
- Integrated greywater system for garden irrigation
- Phase II
- A screened area slightly smaller than Phase I for cooking and eating
during the warm months
- Phase III
- A pantry and storage room
- Root cellar
- Bathroom with shower and no-flush toilet
- Shower will be tied into the greywater system
- Phase IV
- One or two single-room dwelling units for use as either guest quarters
for guests of Bluestem members, or for rental by other Dancing Rabbit
residents.
All design and construction will be done in accordance with the ecological
covenants and sustainability guidelines of Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage. This
includes using non-fossil-fuel-powered appliances (including stove), general
energy and water conservation, and a minimum of toxics used in the construction
process.
